Section 508 Certification

We certify internet web sites, browser based internet and intranet web applications and LAN based Windows software application systems as being accessible for the blind and visually impaired in conformance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Public internet applications can be tested for certification without delivery of any software. To be certified the web site must provide blind users, working with adaptive aids, equivalent information and functionality to that provided to sighted users. All accessibility cues must be clearly discernable by screen readers.

Intranet applications and LAN-based Windows applications can be certified without delivery of software if they are remotely accessible. For applications that can not be remotely accessed, we can install applications in a Windows 2003 server environment. We can also arrange to construct other necessary test beds. Installation instructions or scripts must be provided.

If you requires less than full certification the application can be certified for specifically indentified functionality. Certification can only be delivered for the tested functionality.

Any application not accompanied by complete documentation will be required to undergo a complete functional review to identify all test paths.

User documentation can also be evaluated for accessibility, accuracy and usefulness.

All certifications are conducted with actual testing by blind users skilled in the user of adaptive aids working in conjunction with sighted users to help identify non-apparent visual elements of the system. We do not rely on source code scanners that produce only hypothetically reliable results.

Certifications will be accompanied by a full report of test methodologies. Contact us for a consultation:
